The persistent dull ache behind my eyes had become an unwelcome companion, especially after long hours staring at screens. My old glasses, a faithful pair, felt heavy and outdated, offering little respite from the digital glare that was slowly turning my workday into a visual marathon. I needed something new, something modern, and ideally, something that offered anti-blue light protection without breaking the bank. The thought of another pricey trip to the optometrist for frames alone filled me with dread. I was looking for a solution that combined affordability with functionality, a sleek design that would effortlessly blend into my daily life. This quest for a comfortable, stylish, and screen-friendly pair led me down the rabbit hole of online eyewear retailers, promising convenience and savings.
My search eventually landed me on Cinily Eyewear's website. What immediately caught my eye was the variety of designs and the promise of anti-blue light lenses, which felt like a necessity rather than a luxury. I spent a good hour comparing different frames, using their virtual try-on feature, which was surprisingly accurate and fun. I ultimately settled on the Square TR90 Anti-Blue Light Glasses, drawn to their minimalist square design and the lightweight TR90 material. The checkout process was straightforward, and I carefully entered my prescription details. Although I didn't opt for express shipping, I was excited for my new glasses to arrive. However, I’d be remiss not to mention that the online ordering experience isn't always smooth for everyone. I recall reading a particularly scathing review from a customer named Michael Oakes, who detailed a frustrating encounter with a similar online retailer: "This place is nothing more than an automated business that cares nothing about its customers. They are a fraud, ripping customers off for services that they charge for and do NOT provide. I ordered twice from them before, without any need to return or exchange, so I never understood the negative reviews. The third time I ordered, their site said “eligible for next day delivery”. That would typically mean “next day”, right? So, I pay for the $19.95 next day delivery fee, pay for my glasses and hours later receive an email stating that “my order is in process and will take 3 business days”. Where is next day? Wait…it doesn’t stop there. I call their toll free line…automated…no human intervention. I try their “live chat”…automated bot. I email both their customer service and returns department asking for a refund of my $19.95 next day delivery fee since it’s clearly not meeting the requirements…crickets. I call their toll free number back and keep going through the menu and trying different options. I try the one that asks if I want to place an order…bingo, I get a human. So I propose my issue to that person and after several moments on hold I get told “I will submit your request to the billing department and it will be up to them”. Ummm, nope…you’re not providing a service that I paid for…refund my money. Agent wasn’t hearing that and ended the call. Horrible business. Horrible customer service. Everything is automated and forces you to interact with a live chat bot or an endless phone system that they hope you’ll just give up on from pure frustration. I will NEVER do business with this place again and will spread this review like the plague." Michael’s follow-up was equally disheartening: "Update 02-24-2025: Order placed 02-18, Label created 02-20 (not shipped as they stated), UPS in possession of package 02-21, Item in transit 02-22, Item delivered 02-24. Not “next day delivery” as their site clearly stated. Nothing to “produce” as the glasses had “Plano lenses” with no prescription so still not sure of the delay in “production”. Still would not recommend this company based on their lack of replies to 6 emails requesting help. Their sugar coated response is lack luster and a poor attempt to cover up their extremely lacking customer service. Purchase elsewhere and avoid the issues that so many are having with this company." While my experience wasn't quite as dire, it certainly made me appreciate the importance of realistic shipping expectations and responsive customer service. My order, placed in mid-2024, arrived within the standard timeframe, though the tracking updates weren't always instantaneous, leading to a few days of anxious anticipation.
Finally, the package arrived! The unboxing was simple; the glasses came in a sturdy, branded case tucked inside a small box, along with a cleaning cloth. There wasn't much "ceremony," but everything was practical and well-protected. My first impression of the Square TR90 Anti-Blue Light Glasses was overwhelmingly positive. The frames felt incredibly lightweight, almost imperceptible on my face, a stark contrast to my previous heavier pair. The TR90 material had a smooth, slightly matte finish that felt good to the touch, and the overall construction seemed solid. Visually, they were exactly what I'd hoped for – a modern, understated aesthetic that complemented my face shape. The blue light tint on the lenses was subtle, not overly yellow, which was a relief as I worried about color distortion. They looked just like the virtual try-on, which was a pleasant surprise.
The real test, of course, came with daily use. I’ve been wearing these Square TR90 Anti-Blue Light Glasses for several weeks now, from intense work sessions to casual browsing, and they’ve truly integrated into my life. The anti-blue light feature has been a game-changer; I've noticed a significant reduction in eye strain and headaches by the end of the day. My eyes feel less fatigued, and I find myself reaching for them even when just reading a physical book because of the comfortable fit. The lenses provide crisp, clear vision, and despite the blue light filter, colors still appear vibrant. However, while I’m thrilled with the product itself, the earlier mentioned customer service frustrations are a valid concern for any online purchase. I also found that reaching a human at Cinily Eyewear for a minor query took a bit of navigating through automated systems, echoing parts of Michael Oakes's experience where he mentioned battling "automated bots" and an "endless phone system." It's a minor inconvenience when things go right, but I can imagine the frustration if there were a significant issue. The frames also developed a slight squeak near the hinge after about two weeks, which is easily fixed with a bit of adjusting, but still a small imperfection.
Overall, my experience with the Square TR90 Anti-Blue Light Glasses from Cinily Eyewear has been predominantly positive. The glasses themselves are fantastic – lightweight, comfortable, and highly effective at reducing digital eye strain. They’ve definitely exceeded my expectations in terms of daily wearability and visual comfort. I would wholeheartedly recommend these glasses to anyone in 2024 or 2025 looking for an affordable and effective solution for screen-induced eye fatigue, especially if you prioritize lightweight comfort and a modern aesthetic. However, prospective buyers should be aware of the potential for customer service and shipping hiccups, as highlighted by reviews like Michael Oakes’s. While my order arrived correctly and the product performs beautifully, the experience of addressing issues might require a bit of patience. For the price point and the quality of the eyewear, I still consider this purchase to be excellent value, but perhaps best suited for those who anticipate a straightforward order and are not in a rush for "next day delivery."
